Stephen Gorard is Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Wales, Cardiff, where he specialises in the quantitative analysis of educational issues. He is the author of School Choice in an Established Market (1997) and many other publications, which have profound implications for educational policy in Britain and have led to important methodological advances in the analysis of large-scale datasets over time.
